United Nations Chronicle

The UN Chronicle had gone through numerous visual iterations in a rather ad hoc and unsystematic manner. The new brand identity was built from a logotype in the typeface Veritas, a fresh interpretation of a classic humanist serif. The logotype is accompanied by an iconic olive branch, signifying peace since Ancient Greece and long associated with the United Nations, but in a more natural interpretation to offer a contrast with the abstract wreath icon of the principle United Nations logo. The iconic peacekeeper helmet blue is the principle colour of the UN Chronicle, complimented by a palette ranging into greys and beiges.

A web version of the magazine was designed and developed using the latest online technologies of that time (2007), and represented the first time the magazine was database-driven, searchable and readily updatable through a content management system (Java-based).
